Logos and their meaning - Part 3

This is part 3 of a series wherein I breakdown the thought process behind logos. We will cover the logo breakdown of Levis, Indigo airlines and Tata Cliq.

Levis

The logo is made up of a wordmark inside a bat arch or batwing. The batwing represents a stitch on the back pocket on a pair of Levi’s jeans.

If you observe the wordmark you will notice that the letter e is in smallcase. The reason is Levi’s wanted customers to easily differentiate their 2 era’s (pre and post 1971). This highlights that the Levi’s jeans with capital E are vintage and valuable.

Indigo

The logo symbol positioned in the upper right-hand corner, represents a stylized aircraft made up of white dots. The aircraft directed towards the top right-hand corner represents the moment following the take-off.

The logo symbol directed up and to the right also indicates optimism and readiness to embrace the future.

The blue rectangle represents stability and reliability, while the white colour conveys purity, freshness, and quality.

Tata Cliq

A white stylized letter “Q” placed on a red rounded square. The letter looks like a magnifying glass, representing that customers can find almost everything on the website given they are a lifestyle e-commerce company. The same letterform is used in the wordmark and the dot in I and the tail of the Q match.

With this we come to the end of part 3. I hope the article was of value to you. If you are interested kindly check out part 1 and part 2. Thank you for reading.
