Every shape has a meaning associated with it, which when utilised effectively will help communicate the intended message and in maximising the impact of the design by connecting with the audience. Shapes play a very crucial role in logo design.
Following is a list of inorganic shapes (rigid and geometric as opposed to representing the object close to how it is in reality) and the meaning associated with them.
It is important to note that while looking at a shape the viewer is not going to say, “It is a circle, hence it means friendly”. Rather using the right shapes help evoke the right emotions in the viewer.
Partial shapes convey the same meaning as an entire shape.
